Install Compact Radiators In Limited Room Space

If you are looking to install a central heating system but are working with limited wall space then it can be tricky to know the best way to proceed.  Often people with minimal wall space opt to place a radiator under a window ledge, as this leaves remaining wall space to be used for furniture or decoration and because cold air pushes heat around a room.  However, the counterbalance of this is that warm air also escapes out of the window, meaning it can less energy efficient than you might think.  If you have double-glazing which is new and properly installed then the amount of hot air being lost is likely to be lessened but you will still invariably lose some of the warm air through gaps and cracks.  Before you opt for under the window radiators, why not consider some of these other options which will hopefully offer you just as much versatility and flexibility, if not more.

Compact Radiators

These are exactly what you would expect them to be.  Although not necessarily smaller than normal radiators, they are more tightly compressed meaning you get more bang for your buck.  Why suggest them for someone dealing with limited space?  You can buy smaller versions of a compact radiator which would make them ideal for any room which is tight on wall space.  The benefit of this is that you get a decent amount of heating.  If you were to just buy a smaller sized, normal radiator, you would get less heat and therefore would have to turn the heating up higher, which would cost you more money.

Vertical Radiators

Vertical radiators are a fantastic option if you want to cleverly utilise the wall space available to you and effectively and efficiently heat a room.  You can even buy vertical radiators which have been designed to look like pieces of art, so you wouldn’t actually realise at first glance that it was a radiator.  This type of radiator looks great in industrial buildings which have been sympathetically converted to flats, or homes which want a modern looking twist on their central heating system as they are visually striking and will certainly turn your central heating system into a talking point amongst visitors.

Skirting Board Heating

This is another innovative way of heating a home when space is at a premium.  You replace all your skirting boards with a heating system, and it acts in a similar manner to underfloor heating.  This is an increasingly popular solution and you will find that you can now purchase skirting board heating in a number of different styles and that it is thought to be very energy efficient.  We all know that heat rises and skirting board heating allows a room to warm up gradually and evenly, meaning that you don’t need to constantly adjust the temperature of your heating.

Towel Rail

A heated towel rail is the best option if you want to install a radiator into your bathroom.  Not only will it warm the room but it also serves another purpose, which makes it a very useful solution.
